Unable to connect to the License Server error while activating License key

While installing BI Connector, if you run into an issue shown below, the root cause could be one of the following:

  • You are installing BI Connector on a 32 bit OS

           Solution:  BI Connector requires 64-bit Windows OS.  Please install it on a 64-bit Windows OS machine.

  • Your machine does not have Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0 or higher.  

           Solution:  Go to Start -> Programs and Features in your machine and verify if your machine has Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0 or higher.  If it doesn't, please download and install it from https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/framework

                            Launch BI Connector via ODBC (64-bit) and activate the License.

  • Your machine is unable to connect to the BI Connector License Server due to Firewall or Proxy server issues.  

           Solution:  BI Connector requires an internet connection for license activation.   Check if you are able to access the internet from the machine.  If you do not have internet access, you can try Offline Activation.  Please refer to this article for the steps.
