Pre-requisites

1. Microsoft Power BI Desktop December 2018 update or the latest version.
2. BI Connector Desktop Edition for Microsoft PowerBI. (Step-by-Step Installation Guide for BI Connector Desktop Edition for Microsoft PowerBI)

Navigate to Options

Go to the Options in Power BI Desktop( FIle -> Options and Settings -> Options ).

Enable Certified Extensions

Click the Security Option.

Select "(Recommended) Only allow certified extensions to load" option under the Data Extractions and Click OK.

What to do if I am getting the following warning when launching the Power BI Desktop after doing this change?

If you face this issue, we would recommend you to uninstall the older version of BI Connector and work with the latest version of BI Connector Desktop Edition for Microsoft PowerBI. (Step-by-Step Installation Guide for BI Connector Desktop Edition for Microsoft PowerBI).

Alternatively, if you are going to continue working with the current version of BI Connector, please do the following:

• Open the Documents folder (e.g - C:/Users/<user_name>/Documents).
• Open the folder Power BI Desktop, if it exists.
• Open the Custom Connectors folder in the above folder and delete the BI Connector.mez file present in the folder.
• Similarly, open the folder Microsoft Power BI Desktop in the Documents folder, if it exists.
• Open the Custom Connectors folder in the above folder and delete the BI Connector.mez file present in the folder.
