Modified on Tue, 24 Jul 2018 at 01:28 PM

You would see the following message when you first use BI Connector to connect from Power BI July 2018 release (and above) to Oracle BI (OBIEE).

This is the information message from Power BI when BI Connector is installed in the same machine where Power BI Desktop is installed.  BI Connector has already been certified by Microsoft and is currently being added to the list of certified connectors.  Until then, please use the information below to remove this message.

Working with BI Connector as ODBC Data Source

If you are using BI Connector as ODBC Data Source to connect from Power BI to Oracle BI (OBIEE), then you can ignore this message by clicking on OK button and carry on with your visualization.

But to avoid displaying this message every time you open up Power BI, follow the below instructions.

Step 1: Go to File menu in Power BI Desktop

Step 2: Navigate to Options and Settings -> Options menu.

Step 3: Select Security tab.

Step 4: Under Data Extensions section, by default, "(Recommended) Only allow certified extensions to load" radio button will be selected. Switch it to "(Not Recommeded) Allow any extension to load without validation or warning".

Step 5: Now click on the OK button and restart Power BI to make the changes effective.

Working with BI Connector as Custom Connector

If you are using BI Connector as Custom Connector to connect from Power BI to Oracle BI (OBIEE), BI Connector will not be displayed in the Custom Connector list.

To get BI Connector displayed, you need to follow the above steps from 1 to 5, after which you can continue working with BI Connector without any impact.
